On November 17, 2009  TLEC welcomed a surprise delivery as  Dixie gave birth to a beautiful little filly named “Oops a Daisy”.

With all the excitement of the holidays we just recently got a chance to sit down with Dixie to see how life has changed since becoming a mom.

Q: Although Daisy was a surprise to the humans on the farm, you  obviously knew you were about to deliver a baby—was there anything that did surprise?

A: Her coloring is still a mystery….Daisy was born a bay with a star and gorgeous long legs, and within the last several weeks she is shedding out to look like a gray!

Q: What’s your favorite part about being a mom? A: “Nap time! Ha, ha, no seriously, I love when people come in the stall and take pictures of us, pet me and tell me I am a good mom.. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect little girl" Then, we talked to Daisy.  She told us she is so happy, and thinks life is good, but it seems to be cold outside a lot of the time. Daisy also answered a couple other questions for us….

Q: What is your favorite thing to do?

A: " I love to take naps in the sunshine while my mom watches over me, and I can't wait to get out in the arena and run and jump and buck."

Q: Tell us about one of your recent adventures

A: "I got to go inside that big brick building and see what is was like in there, it sure was different! I have been in the upper arena and saw all kinds of neat stuff, I don't understand why I had to step over things and the flowers didn't smell like flowers, but it was still fun.”

Well, it certainly is exciting to watch Daisy and Dixie in the arena, and we are so glad to have both of them doing so well.
